For a number of years now, I have been following an alkalising diet which means cutting out or minimising foods which have a more acidic ph level. The reason behind this is, the link from acidity to various illnesses such as IBS, IBD, Diabetes, Heart Disease and of course Cancer. We all want to be as healthy as possible yet enjoy life which is why I try an adopt an 80/20 alkaline/acid lifestyle. So I have been familiar with various alkalising Super Green supplements for a number of years, some of them better than others... With probably, Inner Lights Super Greens being the best. Therefore I was excited to hear about a ' new kid on the block' ....Super Elixir by WelleCo, yet sceptical as I heard it was fronted by model/presenter Elle Macpherson. Was this just another endorsement or did this supplement actually have some credence in the world of Wellness?
I was thrilled to be asked to host a live Q&A with Elle and Dr Simone Laubscher, the creator of Super Elixir, at. Selfridges Exchange Square in Manchester.
Elle had noticed that she didn't have as much energy, her skin was looking dull and she had lost a lot of vitality which is why she sought out disease prevention expert and nutritionist, Dr Simone, who immediately noticed an acidity within Elle's lifestyle. Dr Simone created an alkalising nutrition and supplement plan which had an incredible effect on the Super Model. Eventually they collaborated to create Super Elixir a bio live alkalising supplement of 45 sprouted greens, minerals, pro biotics and trace elements to help re balance other people lives.
Now, I have tasted this and it's a lot more palatable than others but I'm more impressed with the quality of ingredients along with the fact that it's been formulated to address all 11 systems in the body by just taking 2 teaspoons a day. I tend to pop mine in a a glass of mineral water first thing in the morning...
The cost? £96 for a month supply ( less than a posh coffee a day) in a gorgeous uv resistant opaque glass caddy with cheaper refills available.
My verdict? Elle and Dr Simone were a delight to be with and I love the fact that they are helping to bring alkalising to the masses... Something that is desperately needed.
